000_europe
Michael is currently working in Europe on Local Internet Strategies in different countries. Local changes internationally.
010_localguides
Local Guides was the last major site that Michael worked on at Local Matters before re-forming Koano. It's been renamed to GuideSpot and launched as an independent consumer-facing brand. Michael wishes he would have thought of that ;)
011_aghome
Area Guides was acquired by Local Matters and Michael provided strategic advice and direct management (briefly). Excellent introduction to scaled SEO as well as the integration of Yellow with Travel (Hotels) and Moving (Apartments).
012_dex
Michael developed the original ontology used at Dex. In addition, Michael led the strategic design and oversaw consumer research for the underlying technology platform - Destination Search.
020_mapquesthome
Michael and his original team put Mapquest on the Internet in February 1996. The only thing that remains of that work is the font - Cheap Motel.
030_jabberhome
Michael was VP of open source at Jabber, Inc. He helped form the Jabber Software Foundation and developed the Jabber Open Source License.
040_sxiphome
Michael helped Dick Hardt briefly while developing the initial brand for SXIP identity.
050_joltidhome
Michael helped Niklas Zennstrom establish Joltid, the Peer-to-Peer platform built from Kazaa. All pre-Skype, unfortunately.
060_blackboxhome
Black Box was one of the first e-commerce sites on the Internet. Michael and his original team developed shopping carts and session management - long before they were widely called that.
